Collecting Memories: My Solo Exhibition

Hello dear friends! I am excited that, after months of working on a new series, my solo exhibition, "Collecting Memories," will open this Friday, May 29th, 2026, at the Wanda D. Ewing Gallery at The Union for Contemporary Art.

The exhibition presents a very personal collection of eleven paintings and three sculptural pieces honoring the memories, storytelling, and folktales of Latin America, mainly from Guatemala (my homeland). The bold colors, patterns, and themes are recollections of the collective imagination that inspired me while growing up.

I’m aiming to translate into visual form the fantastical tales and characters passed down through oral tradition across generations, offering a contemporary approach to Latin American aesthetics, traditions, and stories. See you there! Opening Reception: Friday, May 29th, 2026 / 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.
